Our new hosts debut on this episode! Maddie and Luke have moved away from Indiana to persue their “grown-up” careers, so we’ve recruited two new Indiana University students (that’s where the WTIU offices and studio are located) to serve as co-hosts. Courtney and Matt are total goobers, so we know they’ll fit right in.
This week also introduces a new segment to the show! Every week, we’ll get another chapter in the story of Martin and the Alien Mice. It was really fun to create something that will all tie together and it was a great change of pace for us to generate a completely scripted segment (so much of what we do is at least partly improvised). Our hope is Martin will inspire kids to write their own stories, as well as be able to critically discuss stories they read using the new terms that the segment teaches.
