This internship opportunity for the Friday Zone is one of the many benefits of going to Indiana University. Being a senior, I have been accustomed to the WTIU station for years and have admired the local productions. I jumped at the opportunity to finish out my college career by interning for the Friday Zone. I wanted to try something new and had a good feeling about the show. I knew the position would grant me an inside view of the production of the show.
I was excited for the first day of production for the show. I had simple tasks, which was a nice way to introduce me to the happenings of the show’s production. I was lucky enough to get to make some example arts and crafts for a segment of the program. It was out of the ordinary for me to do arts and crafts. I enjoyed the atypical activity in the midst of a boring school week. I also had to opportunity to greet the show’s guests as they came into the studio. I liked the interpersonal portion of my duties on set. The production went smoothly. It was nice to see how well run the program was.
The first production was a great learning experience. I got to see what a production taping is like. The crew and guest all had fun and looked happy the whole shook. Most importantly, the kids seemed to really enjoy being on the show. I think it is so cool that the local kids have the opportunity to be on TV. I look forward to more days of production.
